Where to dive BHB

Phil Foster Park, under the Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach, is consistently ranked one of the world's best shore dives. 6–20 ft depths, 90+ minute bottom times on a single 80, and the most diverse macro critter list in the continental U.S. — frogfish, seahorses, octopus, batfish, and rare blennies. FAQ

When is the best time to dive Blue Heron Bridge?
Enter the water about 60–75 minutes before high tide, dive through slack high, and exit before the outgoing tide picks up. The live conditions card on this page shows the next usable high tide window for today.
Do I need a boat to dive Blue Heron Bridge?
No. BHB is a shore dive from Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach. Walk in, walk out. Free parking — though it fills early on a good slack tide.
What can I see at Blue Heron Bridge?
BHB has the most diverse macro life of any North American shore dive: frogfish, seahorses (lined and dwarf), octopus (Caribbean reef and Atlantic longarm), batfish, dragonets, blennies, juvenile fish of every kind, and seasonal manatees.
How deep is Blue Heron Bridge?
Most of the dive is in 6–18 ft. The deepest spot under the east bridge spans is ~22 ft. NDL is essentially unlimited — your air supply is the only limit, and on slack tide you can easily do 90+ minute bottom times.
